Chef Tips

Don’t be tempted to use drinking chocolate (hot chocolate mix) for this smoothie. It’s the dark richness of unsweetened cocoa powder that gives it its delicious taste.

If you don’t have agave nectar, you can sweeten this with sugar but you’ll need to add more than the ¼ cup in the recipe. As mentioned, agave tastes twice as sweet as sugar, so add ¼ cup of sugar, buzz, taste and adjust the amount a tablespoon at a time until it tastes good to you.
