When I was a kid in the UK, each October my school would hold a Harvest Festival. My Dad was a master baker and would make huge loaves of bread shaped like wheat... sheaves which he donated to the display of food that was the back drop of the service and given away at the end to those less fortunate than we were. Here in the US, the Fall brings an unsurpassed bounty of wonderful fruits and vegetables.
