This Grape Slushie makes a deliciously sweet and refreshing cooler for an Indian summer, and without any added sugar. It is easy to make, just remember to freeze the grapes ahead of time. But... if freezing is not an option due to time or other reasons, all is not lost. Just go to step 2 using unfrozen grapes, but add 1-2 cups of ice. The flavor will be much less intense but tasty nonetheless.
How to freeze the grapes: Pull off the washed grapes from the stems and pat dry. Arrange them in a single layer on a small cookie sheet. Pop the sheet into the freezer until the grapes are frozen solid, about 90 minutes. At this point, you can roll them off the tray to be either used immediately, or bagged in resealable bags and stored in your freezer for future slushies.
Blend the frozen grapes in a blender with the lemon juice until smooth. Drink immediately. For more fruity refreshment ideas, check out our Cooling Recipes Slideshow!
