  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 8 medium ripe black plums, halved and pitted
  • ½ cup yogurt, or as needed
  • ¼ cup toasted almonds, chopped

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground ginger and brown sugar.  Add the plums, and toss to coat.  Let sit for 10 minutes to macerate.
  2. Meanwhile, preheat the broiler.
  3. Transfer the plums to a baking pan and put 5-inches under the broiler. Broil until the sugar is bubbling and the plums are browned, about 5-7 minutes. Let cool slightly, then serve with chopped almonds and a dollop of yogurt, if using.
