Ingredients

  • ½ cup applesauce
  • ¾ cup very cold plain Greek yogurt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger (See Chef Tips)
  • Pinch allspice
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup, or to taste
  • 3 tablespoons apple juice or water, as needed

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth, adding an ice cube or two if your ingredients are not very cold. Taste for sweetness and consistency, then drink immediately.

Chef Tips

If either your mouth or throat is very sore, just add a pinch of ground ginger instead of ¼ teaspoon and see how it goes. The recipe will probably be fine as written, but everyone is different, and this smoothie is tasty enough to be worth finding out what works for you.
