Ingredients

  • 1½ pounds Gala apples, cored, peeled, and cubed
  • 1½ pounds black plums, quartered, pit removed, and skin left on
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, or more to taste
  • 2 cups water

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the apples, plums, sugar, and water to a boil.  Reduce to a simmer and cook for 40 to 45 minutes, or until desired consistency.  Serve warm or let cool.  Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Chef Tips

Gala apples are sweet. If you can’t find them use Golden Delicious as a substitute.
